“Thank you for the fantastic weekend in this lovely little luxury hideaway. Who knew there would be a tasteful mashup of antebellum south and New York City loft behind that colonial exterior? Wow. My girlfriend and I loved the sweeping stairway that leads you to the series of groovy bedroom suites. We chose the top floor crow’s nest that looks out on to the treetops and down into the meticulously landscaped backyard with pool. But before settling in we took a short walk to the historic town square, where we checked out the art at Commerce Gallery, scoured the vinyl at Bluebonnet Records, and quaffed a couple cocktails at The Pearl. Great scene and great evening. We’ll be back to try out the other rooms.”

Wow, we LOVED the Caroline House.  We stayed there for a couple nights for a small family retreat.  The place has so much character.  The interior is well-appointed, airy and comfortable with a variety of different sitting areas.  Modern art lines the walls, giving it a gallery feel.  We hung out all over the house and outside, enjoying fires in the fire pit at night, hanging by the pool, and taking the bikes that our hosts so kindly loaned us down to town.  Our favorite area was the outdoor patio where we could comfortably social distance, and enjoy a breezy dinner overlooking the pool and grounds.   But each of the rooms, bathrooms and grounds was well-furnished with new, comfortable, stylish furniture, and the place was exceptionally clean and well-maintained.  I’m very particular about bed linens and they were lovely.  They’ve thought of everything…games, books, and even a record player and records in the master upstairs.  Tamara and Donna are the sweetest, most hospitable hosts ever.  The house is well-located on the main street of  Lockhart, in walking distance to the owners’ art gallery, restaurants, shops and bars.  You can’t go wrong with The Caroline!!  It’s going to be a regular venue for our family events!
